From the inception of musical evenings seven years ago, music consultant Michael Lamb has consistently applied his natural acumen for organisation and networking. Today this provides members with a comprehensive range of regular events, offering a variety of musical experiences to cater for all tastes from chamber music to opera. His role is also to select venues and engage promising and established young musicians and singers.

These magical evenings have become a distinctive feature of the Classical Partners experience. Often held in members’ homes throughout the country, they offer an informal and relaxed environment in which to find romance or make new friendships over good food and wine. Diane, Michael and our host or hostess will be there to offer you a warm welcome over drinks and introduce you to other members. Following an extensive buffet supper you will be treated to a recital by the cream of emerging young musical talent in a setting as intimate as a Schubertian salon. Around 30 members attend and the evening is rounded off with dessert and coffee.

Concert and Opera evenings in the UK and abroad

Due to priority booking arrangements our members are able to attend some of the world’s finest performances.

Typical recent examples include: Simon Rattle with the Berlin Philharmonic, Rostropovitch, Demidenko, Perlman, Anne – Sophie Mutter and many other great names.

Informal drinks receptions at the Archduke Restaurant precede concerts at the Royal Festival Hall or the Bechstein Room at the Wigmore Hall. For our joint concert evenings with the London Symphony Orchestra, we arrange a special reception at the Barbican where Classical Partners can meet members of the orchestra.

Also on offer are the best of the Proms and opera performances where you go in style, with pre-concert drinks and canapes in your private box. All these events, which include dinner, are attended by around 30 men and women, roughly in equal numbers.

Sunday morning coffee concerts at the Wigmore Hall followed by lunch are also very popular.

In addition, we organise regular opera weekends in major European cities and on a more informal note you can spend a day or weekend in the English countryside with arts activities or learning to paint.
